Interland is nice because you can choose the type of machine you’d like to be hosted on. They offer both Linux and Windows. Unfortunately, your dollar doesn’t go as far. For $7.95 a month you get 1 gig of storage and 25 gigs of transfer on a Linux box. Perl and FrontPage are supported, but you can’t have PHP on the budget plan. But even on their low end plan, Interland gives you access to your raw log files. The next plan up allows you to have PHP and increases your disk space to 2.5 gigs with 100 gigs of transfer for $11.95 a month, again this on a Linux box. The top end Linux solution is $25.45 a month. You get 5 gigs of storage and 500 gigs of transfer. You also get ssh and shell access. This is nice for running scripts.
If you’re a fan of windows servers, Interland has two packages for $15.95 and $29.70 a month. For $15.95 a month you get 2.5 gigs of storage and 100 gigs of transfer. IIS is included and you can pretty much run anything in Python, PHP or FrontPage. You have to go up to the top plan to get full .ASP access, but you also get 5 gigabytes of space plus 500 gigs of transfer.
